Grettir take two!

I know, I know, it’s ages since my last post, but I’ve been very busy at work with no time, or better, no energy to knit. It’s the busiest time of the year with all the Xmas stuff and sales, so bear with me.

But fear not, today I’ve a finished project to show you! It’s my second Grettir, this time made for my dad. As usual, I’ve used Traveller by Cephalopod Yarns and I love this slightly more masculine version of this pullover. The main color is Queensland, a lovely mix of light blues, purples and greens, while the yoke is knitted in Casco Bay –  the blue -, Emerald City – the green – and Bare Traveller which is the simple not dyed  yarn.
I seriously love this pattern: the line is simple, but the motif in the yoke is really beautiful. I think I could knit Grettirs forever, one for each day of the week! For this one I modified a little the numbers and I hope I got the right fit. For the body I casted on 220 sts, for the sleeves 54 sts and increased it to 82. I left 20 sts on hold for each underarm and joined everything together to knit the yoke. I had 304 sts and followed chart D for men.
And the inside is as pretty as the outside!
Which colors to use for the next Grettir? :)

  1. it’s beautiful, I don’t know if I will ever have the confidence (or concentration level) to knit a pattern like that. I’m sure your dad will love it :)
